Contribute is QUT's preferred web editing tool. It is significantly easier to use than Dreamweaver and includes many features for managing a website such as an easy to use editor and workflow processes (which links nicely to the Web Governance Framework).

Contribute Rollout Project

In late 2005, QUT decided to adopt Contribute as its standard web editing tool. Currently, a Contribute Rollout Project is underway with the goal of implementing the Contribute client throughout the university. The Contribute Rollout Project is currently on hold indefinately due to licensing discussions between Desktop, Management and Integration (DMI) and Adobe. Discussions are expected to be completed over the coming months.

Current project-specific information and resources can be found on the Contribute Rollout Project wiki space. NB: A QUT wiki account is required to gain access. To obtain an account, please contact the IT Helpdesk (x84000).

For further information regarding the Contribute Rollout Project, please contact the Web Team (matt.bailey@qut.edu.au) or your local Website Coordinator.

Training

As part of the Contribute Rollout Project, Contribute training workshops will be offered to areas migrating their websites to Contribute. These workshops will be coordinated with local Website Coordinators according to the rollout schedule of the organisational area (eg. Faculty, Division).

Following the completion of the Contribute Rollout Project, the Web Team will be providing 'Using Contribute' training workshops to all interested staff who have agreed to act as Editors, Approvers and Publishers of website content. Registration for 'Using Contribute' training workshops can be accessed via the ITS Training website.

Further Information and Support

View support documentation for detailed information about using and administering the Contribute client, and learning how to use several of the Contribute features unique to the QUT web environment.

For further information about Contribute, please contact your local Website Coordinator.
