ITS helps QUT staff and students ensure that damaging computer viruses do not impact QUT's computer environment. The department does this in a number of ways.
- Providing timely and accurate advice to staff and students about potential virus threats that may damage their computers.
- Providing technical advice to Faculties and Divisions to assist them in protecting their computers from viruses.
- Including Symantec's antivirus software on the QUT Standard Operating Environment
and Sophos antivirus software on the central email system to protect servers
and desktops from virus infection.
