Project Management Practice Improvement

The QUT Project Management Framework (PMF) has been developed incorporating the best elements of a number of existing project management Practices and the international standard of PMBOK.

The revised PMF has replaced the previous Project Registry Framework, which focused on the early stages of a project life cycle. The review was undertaken in the form of a series of workshops, examining different aspects of Project Management, taking into account existing documentation and an Internal Audit report.

The PMF was approved by the Information Technology Strategic Governance Committee and has been in use since July 2003 for IT. The Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Committee subsequently approved the framework for all QUT projects without an existing framework to follow.

The PMF undergoes continuous improvement by responding to new requirements or enhancements with an update annually.
