QUT Wireless - Setting up print services

Printing in the Student computing labs under the newly released Windows Vista Operating System is possible once you have successfully connected to Queensland University of Technologies Wireless network via your laptop.

1. Once you are connected to the QUT Wireless network click on your Start Button and enter the following text into the search field then press Enter.
   
   For Black and White printing:
   \\qutprintgp\students
   
   For Colour printing:
   \\qutprintgp\students_col

2. You will be prompted to authenticate to the qutprintgp server, enter your student logon details as given in the following example.

3. The first time you connect to the student print queues you will be prompted with the following.

   Click on the Install Driver button to setup the drivers for you system.
   
   
4. At this point you should be presented with the printer queue on your system; this indicates that you have successfully setup the student printers on your Vista machine.

   When you are connected to the QUT wireless network, to print you should be able to select the \\qutprintgp\students queue from your print options and then retrieve your printouts from a Print Station in any central student laboratory.
