- Ensure you are within a wireless coverage area and your wireless adapter is configured and enabled.
Your laptop should be able to detect the Wireless Network (SSID) named 'QUT'.
- Click Start
-> Control Panel.
- Click Network and Internet Connections, then Network Connections .

- Right-click on Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
NOTE: If your wireless connection is disabled, right-click on Wireless Network Connection and select Enable.

- Click the Wireless Networks tab then click Add.

- a. Enter QUT as Network name (SSID)
b. Select WPA for Network Authentication
c. Select AES (if avaliable) or TKIP for Data encryption
d. Click the Authentication tab.

- a. Select Protected EAP (PEAP) for EAP type
b. Un-tick Authenticate as computer when computer information is available
c. Click Properties.
- a. Tick Validate server certificate
b. Tick Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority
c. Choose Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) for Select Authentication Method
d. Click Configure, then un-tick Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) and click OK.
e. Click OK until you are back at your desktop.

- Click on the pop-up window in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, then enter your QUT Access username and password and click OK.
