Fast Ethernet equals 100 Megabits per second. Fast Ethernet is the QUT standard connection speed to the desktop.

Charging model based on the installation of a 24port Fast Ethernet switch. Repeat charging model for every block of 24 activations. Activation includes the provision of new desktop flylead.
- In compliance with Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet cabling standards the specified maximum CAT5E or CAT6 cable length between Network Interface Card (NIC) and active device is 100 metres. This includes a maximum 5 metre lead at either end and 90 metres maximum fixed wiring in the walls. Installations are subject to investigations by Network Services. Please consult with Network Services via the IT Helpdesk (x.84000) or lodge a Data Work Request Form.
