Consultation and Support for Scientific Applications

  • The group provides consultation for QUT staff and research students using HPC, visualisation facilities and associated workstations
  • It facilitates the use of external HPC and research sources by providing an interface between internal QUT researchers and external resources

Data Analysis

  • The group provides support for qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools
  • Arrange access to the Data Entry Service

Scientific Visualisation Support

  • The group provides specialist support services for scientific data visualisation. This includes the production of computer generated data visualisations, high quality graphics output, and the production of high quality scientific animations

Scientific Library and Programming Support

  • The group coordinates, maintains and supports centrally provided libraries of scientific routines and applications
  • It also provides general programming advice, code optimisation, parallelisation and consultation

Training

  • Data Analysis and Statistical software courses:
    • Introductory and advanced SPSS workshops
    • A wide range of parametric and non-parametric statistical procedures
Register for HPC training courses via the library website using the following instructions:
  1.   Login to My Library Profile on the QUT Library website
  2.   In the search area on the My Library Profile page, ensure the search type is set to 'Keyword'
  3.   Type the keyword HPC into the second textbox and select the Search button. This should bring up a list of HPC workshops
  4.   Select the workshop you wish to attend, eg.Introduction to Qualitative Methods
  5.   On the following page - select Register (in blue text), then select OK from the next screen
  6.   You are now registered for this session. You should receive a confirmatory email soon after completion
  7.   This process can be repeated for any other session you require
  • Individual or small group training can be arranged upon request (email) for topics such as:
    • Matlab
    • Data Visualisation
    • Code Optimisation
    • Using the HPC facilities

Marketing and Publications

The group provides a range of information services. These include:

  • User documentation
  • Marketing of research resources and services within the QUT and to external clients
  • Promotion of innovative research technologies
