The High Performance Computing (HPC) and Research Support Group provides support
for staff and students using HPC and visualisation facilities.
They can provide help with the visualisation of research results and assist researchers to make the best use of advanced large-scale computing resources within and outside QUT.
The services of the HPC group are based around the following primary areas, all designed to enhance research outcomes and productivity by:
- Offering support to researchers requiring high speed computation provided by high performance supercomputing systems;
- Providing visualisation tools that allow scientific, engineering and other data sets to be transformed into 3D visual representations;
- Providing programming support for research applications including code paralellisation and optimisation;
- Supporting QUT's research program from a statistics and data modelling perspective. Supported tools include SPSS and NVivo;
- Providing support for collaboration and eResearch;
- Helping researchers with grant applications.
Our Focus is to also provide access to the following specialised resources and facilities:
- High performance computational and graphics computing systems;
- A wide range of state-of-the-art software to support your research activites;
- AccessGrid video conferencing facility for national and international collaboration;
- Online Surveys using KeySurvey software suite;
- Access to state and national high performance computing facilities;
- A wide range of client support consultancy and training services to assist you in the best using the facilities.
