Below is a list of QUT IT standards, policies and frameworks that must be adhered to by all QUT staff and students, or an exception sought. Reasonable exceptions will be welcomed and readily given.

QUT Information Facilities Rules This link will take you to another QUT web site. QUT students and staff must comply with security measures for the protection of information facilities, including physical spaces and information technology networks, systems, services or data. Don Caruana None
Information Systems Security Policy This link will take you to another QUT web site. This policy addresses security issues related to the ownership, integrity and accessibility of information, and risks associated with the use of computers and networks for storing, transferring and processing information. This policy addresses requirements for QUT websites and servers including Web Governance Framework, corporate ID and domain names.

Building Network Design (NSP024) PDF To define QUT network design guidelines for network engineering staff when installing network equipment into building Network data centres and wiring rooms.   All exceptions must be submitted in writing to Network Services Planning, Design and Standards Group via email pdsg@qut.edu.au.
Copyright File Logging Policy Word document Procedures for logging and managing potential copyright violations. Alison Davis There are no formal exceptions for the Copyright file logging policy.

Corporate Subnet Policy MS Word document Provides a logical management structure for the corporate network address space. The policy was developed to streamline firewall rules, enhance system management, enable host security. Don Caruana/Greg Palmer  
Email List Naming Standards PDF This policy is intended as being the definitive standards policy on list naming at QUT.    
Network Port Standard (NSP005) PDF This Network Standards policy defines what network port settings can be used with the QUT Network. Ted Mync Network Services Planning, Design and Standards Group via email pdsg@qut.edu.au. Before an exemption is sought it must have the approval from senior management in the relevant faculty of division.
QUT Access Grid Usage Policy This link will take you to another QUT web site. The QUT Access Grid policy outlines access, user responsibility, hours of operation, charges and management of this service. Joe Young Exceptions must be made in writing to Director, ITS.
       
QUT Wireless Policy (NSP002) Word document Any wireless network acknowledge that the wireless network is a potential security risk. QUT has developed a network architecture that balances security and ease of use. Network Services Planning, Design & Standards Group Exceptions must be made to the ITS Director, Neil Thelander
QUT Web Manual This link will take you to another QUT web site.

The Web Manual includes a set of standards, policies and guidelines for the management of QUT website and content. Web page and server policy This link will take you to another QUT web site. states that all websites must follow corporate identity, accessibility and other standards as outlined in the QUT Web Manual.

Frameworks

     
Project Management Framework This link will take you to another QUT web site. VCAC endorsed project management approach to be used for all projects unless there is an existing alternate substantial framework in place. Warren Fraser

Systems Development Framework This link will take you to another QUT web site. This framework provides a guideline to the standard and systematic steps involved in the development and/or implementation of an information system. Joe Dascoli N/A

The Service Management Framework has been prepared to provide a practical guide for implementing and maintaining ICT services at QUT.

The various applications and systems comprising the QUT IT environment generate logs of information as part of their normal operation. It is recognised that there are some circumstances where access is required. This policy outlines under what circumstances this information will be accessed.

Innappropriate Access of Private Information (Access & Group Management) Guidelines PDF QUT staff and students are governed by the Manual of Policies and Procedures (MOPP).
