[Print-friendly version]

The local Change Coordination Group for ITS is known as the Service Change Management Group (SCMG). All IT-related service and system changes are to be lodged with the SCMG to receive an endorsement by the group in order for the change to proceed to implementation.

At the bottom of the page you will notice documentation that covers different aspects of this group.

In the list below are two documents detailing standard changes from ESS and EIS, that do not require submission of a Service Change Management Request for Change - Approval to Implement form, and which have been endorsed by the Service Change Management Group. The changes on these lists introduce no, or minimal, risk to services or are necessary in order to achieve rapid incident resolution in line with the service management best practice. Therefore, they will be approved by the ESS or EIS SCMG representative.

If you have any concerns regarding the process or the Request for Change - Approval to Implement form, please reply to the following email address.

Terms of Reference

ITS has established a Service Change Management Group that will meet frequently to approve IT-related service and system changes taking into account:

  • timing, especially with respect to other "events";
  • contingency planning (such as rollback options);
  • stakeholder communication;
  • training, help desk and other support group (orientation); and
  • other issues to ensure quality of service and facilities during and after each change.

The Service Change Management Group must reference the Forward Schedule of Changes, which lists University dates and events, including IT-related service and system changes that the SCMG endorses.
